Ingredo Terms of Service
Version 1.0-draft · 2026-10-14
Who we are
Ingredo is an iPhone app that turns photos of your fridge into dinner ideas and recipes. It is made and sold by STRATEGIC DATA ARCHITECTS LLC, 1209 Mountain Road Place NE, Ste R, Albuquerque, NM 87110, United States ("we", "us").
These terms are an agreement between you and us. By creating an account or using Ingredo, you accept them. The Privacy Policy explains what we do with your data. If you choose "Share your data", the Data Sharing Agreement applies as well.
Questions: support@ingredo.net. Privacy questions: privacy@ingredo.net.
Who can use Ingredo
You must be at least 16 years old to use Ingredo if you live in the EU or the UK, and at least 13 elsewhere, or older if your local law requires it. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you. "Share your data" is only for people aged 18 or older.
Your account
- You need to sign in with Apple to use Ingredo. Your free meals, purchases and saved recipes are kept with that account.
- Keep your Apple ID secure. What happens in your Ingredo account is your responsibility.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile > Delete account). The Privacy Policy lists what deletion removes and the little we keep.
- Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel it in your Apple ID settings first.
- Meals from meal packs that are already in your account are lost when you delete your account. They cannot be moved to another account, and "Restore purchases" does not bring them back. A purchase that had not yet been confirmed when you deleted your account is different: see "How purchases reach your account".
Meals
- A meal is used when you tap "See 4 ideas" to start a new set of ideas. For the next 6 hours, in that same session, more ideas, opening recipes, dish pictures and taste-profile updates are included and use no further meals.
- Every Apple account gets 5 free meals, once. Deleting your account and signing in again with the same Apple ID does not give you new free meals.
- When you start a meal, Ingredo uses your plans in this order: an active weekly subscription, then "Share your data", then meal packs, then free meals. A subscription and "Share your data" never add up: holding both still gives you up to 21 meals in any rolling 7 days.
- Our server keeps the count. If you think a meal was counted wrongly, write to support@ingredo.net.
Weekly subscription
- The weekly subscription gives you up to 21 meals in any rolling 7 days. The price is shown in the app, in your currency, before you buy (in the United States, US$2.99 a week).
- The 21-meal limit is a fair-use limit. When you reach it, Ingredo uses a meal pack or free meals if you have any. Otherwise new ideas pause until your oldest meal in those 7 days is more than 7 days old. Your saved recipes stay open.
Weekly is an auto-renewing subscription that costs US$2.99 in the United States, or the local price shown in the app, a week and gives you up to 21 meals in any rolling 7 days. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. It renews every week at the same price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current week, and your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the week ends. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings. Deleting the app or your Ingredo account does not cancel it.
- If you cancel, you keep the subscription until the end of the week you have paid for. There are no refunds for part of a week, except where the law or Apple's rules require one.
Meal packs
Meal packs are one-time purchases of 10 or 25 meals. Their meals do not expire, belong to the Ingredo account that was signed in when you bought them, and are lost if you delete that account. "Restore purchases" does not restore meal packs from Apple: their meals are already kept with your Ingredo account on our server.
- Prices are shown in the app, in your currency, before you buy.
- "Do not expire" means for as long as we offer Ingredo. If we close Ingredo, see "Ending".
Payments and refunds
- All purchases are made through Apple's App Store and are also subject to Apple's terms. Apple takes the payment. We never see your card or payment details.
- Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds ourselves.
- Except where the law or Apple's rules require otherwise, purchases are not refundable.
- If Apple refunds a meal pack, the unused meals from that pack are removed. Your balance never goes below zero, and meals you have already used are not charged again. If Apple refunds a subscription, the subscription ends.
How purchases reach your account
A purchase counts once our server has checked it with Apple. Ingredo completes the App Store purchase only after our server has confirmed it, so a crash or a lost connection does not lose it. Until then it waits on your iPhone and is sent again when you open Ingredo or sign in.
- "Restore purchases" brings back an active Weekly subscription bought with the App Store account on your iPhone.
- "Manage subscription" opens Apple's subscription page, where you can change or cancel Weekly.
- Every purchase carries the Ingredo user ID of the person signed in when it was bought. If someone else signs in on the same iPhone before that purchase is confirmed, it keeps waiting, they see nothing about it, and it is added when its owner signs in again. While it waits, nobody can buy that same product on that iPhone: the same meal pack, or Weekly if the waiting purchase is Weekly. The other products still work.
- If the owner deleted their Ingredo account before the purchase was confirmed, it is added to the account that is signed in when it is next sent.
- Buy meals only inside the app. A purchase started from the App Store product page or with an offer code carries no Ingredo user ID, so we cannot add it to any account. If that happens, ask Apple for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com, and write to support@ingredo.net if you need help.
Your right to cancel (EU and UK)
If you live in the EU or the UK, you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content. Your meals are available as soon as you buy. By completing the purchase you ask us to provide them straight away, and you accept that you lose the right to cancel a meal pack or a subscription as soon as you use a meal from it. Cancellations and refunds go through Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com.
Share your data
"Share your data" is an optional way to use Ingredo without paying: you share redacted fridge photos, your corrections and the dishes you choose, under the Data Sharing Agreement. You can stop at any time. We may stop offering this option. Collection then stops at once; if you were sharing, your meals from sharing continue until the end of your current 7-day period, and then Ingredo offers you the other choices. "Stop sharing" stays available, and sharing again needs your agreement again. The Data Sharing Agreement explains what happens to what you have already shared.
AI suggestions: please read
- Ingredo's ideas, recipes and dish pictures are generated by AI models (Google's Gemini models, through OpenRouter) from your photos and settings. They can be wrong: an ingredient can be misread, and quantities, steps or cooking times can be wrong.
- Ingredo does not know about your allergies or intolerances. Its diet settings (vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free) are preferences, not guarantees. If you, or anyone you cook for, has an allergy, an intolerance or a medical diet, check every ingredient yourself.
- Ingredo cannot tell whether food is fresh or safe to eat. Check use-by dates, cook meat, fish, eggs and leftovers thoroughly, and follow your local food-safety advice.
- Ingredo does not give medical, nutritional or dietary advice.
- Dish pictures are illustrations made by AI. They are not photos of real food.
- You decide what to cook and eat, and you are responsible for it.
Using Ingredo fairly
Do not:
- break the law, or upload anything illegal or anything you have no right to share;
- photograph people, documents or anything private: photograph food, your fridge and your cupboards;
- try to get around meal counts, free-meal rules or purchase checks, for example by using several accounts;
- use bots, scripts or other automated access, or overload or attack our servers;
- copy, resell or reverse-engineer Ingredo, except where the law allows it.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules (see "Ending").
Your content and our app
- Your photos and what you type remain yours. You allow us to process them to run Ingredo for you, as the Privacy Policy describes. "Share your data" adds the licence in the Data Sharing Agreement.
- You may use the ideas and recipes Ingredo gives you for any personal purpose.
- We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Ingredo app on Apple devices you own or control, as Apple's Usage Rules allow. The Ingredo name, design and software belong to us.
Apple
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Ingredo or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Ingredo.
- If Ingredo fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Ingredo.
- Apple is not responsible for any claims about Ingredo, including product liability claims, claims that Ingredo fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If anyone claims that Ingredo or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with that claim.
- You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated by the US government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
- Questions, complaints or claims about Ingredo go to us, at the address and emails above.
Changes
- We may change Ingredo and these terms. We will tell you about important changes before they take effect, for example in the app or on this page. If you do not agree, stop using Ingredo and delete your account.
- Price changes for subscriptions go through Apple, which tells you in advance and asks for your agreement where the law requires it.
- Changes to the Data Sharing Agreement always need your new agreement.
Ending
- You can stop at any time by deleting your account. Cancel any subscription in your Apple ID settings as well.
- We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires it.
- If we close Ingredo entirely, we will give at least 30 days' notice on ingredo.net and, where we can, in the app.
Warranties and liability
- To the extent the law allows, Ingredo is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will always work or that its suggestions are accurate.
- To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for all claims is limited to the greater of what you paid for Ingredo in the 12 months before the claim and US$50.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence or wilful misconduct. Nothing in these terms takes away your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights if digital content is faulty.
Governing law and disputes
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
- If you are a consumer living in the EU, the UK or another country whose law gives you protections that a contract cannot take away, you keep those protections, and you may bring a claim in the courts where you live.
- Otherwise, disputes go to the state or federal courts in Bernalillo County, New Mexico.
- Before going to court, please write to support@ingredo.net. Most problems can be solved by email.
